Italy ... The Peggy Guggenheim, March 17 ... you can visit for free :-)


In 1948 Peggy Guggenheim arrived in the lagoon was invited to participate at the first Biennale of the war. Falls in love with the city where he had been for nearly 30 years. Palazzo Venier dei Leoni becomes the crossroads of a thousand stories, a thousand of those meetings, art lovers or just curious about the already legendary collector, crowding the halls of his house open to the public where it was possible to admire masterpieces, among others, by Kandinsky, Picasso, Magritte, Pollock, de Chirico. A few months after the death of Peggy, in Easter 1980, his house reopened as a museum and started the adventure now thirty years of the Peggy Guggenheim. To commemorate the choice of the collector, who, in his youth affected by a sort of nomadic culture and the arts, finally decided to live in Venice, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy, March 17 the Peggy Guggenheim Collection invites all Italian citizens to visit the museum free wanted tenaciously by Peggy in Venice, just in Italy.
