Torcello Museum: Free admission for residents in the Province of Venice ... :-)


The museum opens its doors to Torcello in Venice. L ' entry will be free for residents of the province of Venice every Thursday , simply presenting a valid ID at the ticket office. The initiative is the provincial culture Raffaele Speranzon.

From April 15 therefore residents of the Province Venice can access free every Thursday at the Provincial Museum of Torcello.

The Museum will be open free to the public also during the "Cultural Week " from 16 to April 25 including , while the membership has been confirmed for this year the European Heritage Days in September organized by the Council of Europe and the Ministry of goods and cultural activities.

The Provincial Museum of Torcello was introduced to the 800 as a result of donations to the Province of Venice of the ancient buildings of the Council Archives and which still make up the museum. Exhibits artefacts and works as found both in Torcello islands adjacent or nearby mainland. The Patriarchate Diocese of Venice (the owner of Campanile and the Basilica of Torcello) and the Province have been active since July 2000 a proposed museum use of the island through the provision of built-trip tickets to visit the sites of their respective competence.
